싸이, 신곡 4월 공개…YG 양현석도 ‘만족’
‘강남스타일’은 최고점을 찍었다. 지금 싸이에게 필요한 것은 신곡이다.
전 세계의 주목을 받고 있는 싸이의 신곡이 오는 4월 공개될 계획이다. 지난 2월 ‘강남스타일’의 작곡가 유건형이 미국 로스앤젤레스로 출국해 싸이와 녹음 작업을 함께해 신곡을 이미 완성했다.
이번 신곡에서 싸이는 싱어송라이터로서의 실력을 발휘했다. 세계적 명성을 얻은 싸이에게 해외 유명 작곡가와 팝스타들이 함께 작업할 것을 청했지만, 싸이는 미국 MTV와의 인터뷰에서 “어떠한 콜라보레이션 작업도 하지 않을 것이다. 다시 해낼 수 있단 것을 증명해보이고 싶다”고 각오를 밝혔다.
과연 싸이 신드롬은 계속될까. 전 세계가 그의 새 노래를 기다리고 있다. 싸이가 ‘반짝 스타’에 머무를지, 아니면 세계 팝 역사에 기록될 ‘진짜 스타’가 될지. 성패는 이번 신곡에 달렸다.
싸이는 3월1일 호주에서 열리는 ‘퓨처 뮤직 페스티벌’(Furure Music Festival)에 참석하기 위해 출국할 계획이다.
