티아라의 소속사는 “티저영상을 월요일 공개할 예정이었으나, 팬들의 요청에 3일 앞당겨 오늘 공개 하기로 결정했다. 티저영상에는 7080시대 디스코 허슬춤이 50초 영상안에 모두 담겨있다. 멜로디와, 편곡, 안무가 쉬우면서 중독적인 매력을 가지고 있어 20대부터 50대까지 넓은 연령층에게 어필할 것을 기대하고 있다”고 전했다.
‘롤리-폴리’는 아무리 쓰러져도 일어서는 오뚜기란 뜻으로, 신사동호랭이, 최규성이 공동작사작곡한 작품이다. 80년대 유행했던 디스코에 현대 음악적인 요소를 더한 복고풍 느낌의 매력적인곡으로, 곡의 느낌에 맞춰 티아라는 전과는 다른 창법으로 노래를 소화해 마치 ‘비지스(Bee Gees)’의 ‘나이트 피버(Night Fever)를 연상케 한다.
The teaser of the music video of T-ara’s ‘Roly-Poly’ was unveiled on Melon on 24th.
T-ara’s agency said, “The teaser was scheduled to be released on Monday, yet we’ve decided to unveil it three days earlier due to fans’ request. In the 50-second teaser, the members perform disco and hustle dance of 70s and 80s. With the simple and addictive melody and choreography, the song is expected to appeal across a wide range of age groups.”
‘Roly-Poly,’ which refers to a toy that bounces back up after falling, is a collaboration of Shinsadong Tiger and Choi Gyu-seong. The retro-style song has disco beats from 80s. The song, which is sung by T-ara in a new singing style, is reminiscent of ‘Night Fever’ of ‘Bee Gees.’
